Integrating the power from latest AMD Z-Series APU processor and functionality of Windows 7 Home Premium, the MSI WindPad offers you a better experience for work and entertainment, with 10' 1280x800 wide-view, multi-point touch screen with IPS, exclusive smart tracker for smooth operation, an array of hotkey buttons and dual front/rear cameras for twice the productivity. TPM (Trusted Platform Module) embedded security chip and MSI's EasyFace biometric software provides complete protection for peace of mind. Easily connect to other devices for data share and video transfer with exclusive Smart Media Link. Quickly and intuitively manage and access your frequently used functions and software with O-Easy interface. Best of all, the SRS TruMedia offers enhanced acoustic effect for more immersive audio experience. Get the WindPad today, and bring your life with you on the go. Exclusive Smart Tracker for Smooth Operation Other tablet brands are hard on the hands and wrists as they require that the tablet be held in one hand, while the other operates the screen.
This can cause strain and possibly injury over long periods of time. The WindPad 110W features the exclusive Smart Tracker, which allows you to grip it with two hands as you operate the tablet via the Smart Tracker.

Your hands and wrists won't feel discomfort no matter how long you use it. Lock/unlock Rotation Function at Will The WindPad 110W can display contents in landscape or portrait orientation to match various applications and your personal needs. A touch of one button stops screen rotating to make reading e-books, playing games, web browsing, or using office applications more enjoyable. Dual Cameras Two cameras are built in for twice the productivity. The rear-facing camera captures images and video for editing and sharing, and the front-facing camera lets you conduct video conference anytime, anywhere. TPM (Trusted Platform Module) Files can be encrypted for twice the security.
This means that you can require a password to open a file and then require that it can only be opened in coordination with the TPM chip. Even if a hacker obtains your file, for example, they can't actually get at the data without the TPM chip, effectively stopping data loss due to hackers and Trojan horses. Smart Media Link The WindPad 110W connects easily with other devices to perform such actions as sharing information and transferring videos/documents.
O-Easy Interface MSI's own O-Easy Interface offers three application modes for easier management and use of frequently used functions and software. Pros: Good GPU, decent CPU for what it is. Plenty of RAM. Cons: Stock SSD is slow. The CPU feels a little slow when it comes to opening things on the desktop (web browsers take a few seconds to open), but Metro apps are very snappy.
Other Thoughts: Windows 8 works great. I installed the latest AMD chipset/graphics drivers and downloaded the rest of the device drivers from MSI's website. You also need the Windows 7 version of MSI's 'O-Easy' software to enable automatic screen rotation. Upgrading the mSATA SSD is easy, just remove the 6 screws (two at the power jack, 4 under the pop-out rubber feet) and run your fingernails between the grey/black plastic to gently pop the screen off. Pros: I have done alot of research on other tablets and this is best i could find within a $500 price range. The main thing is its video card is much better then most in its class its even better then some more pricey ones. It does run some older and a few newer games well i tested: Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Half-Life 1+2, portal, counterstrike source(lowest-med setting some better then others).
It would run many more but you only have 8 GB of space when you get windows 7 on it also the stock hard drive is super slow and small room so replace it asap. If you don't want to replace the hard drive you can use the SD card slot to add 32-64GB of extra space(these cards run much slower then the hard drive but you can install to them). I have also heard it can use 8GB of ram vs the 4gb stock, if i ever do the hard drive swap i might do that also and install windows 8. Overall it still does everything i expected and i am very pleased with it. Cons: Well will start off with why this got 4 eggs and not 5, the first one i got lasted 4 days then got a BSOD error indicating a hardware failure maybe the ram or ssd. After talking with Newegg on the phone and setting up my RMA# they gave me the instructions and a pre-paid postage label to return it to them. About 8 days later i got my new tablet for the 2nd time.
The charging cable is a joke, i had to place my surge protector next to it so it can reach. The included cover wont even fit over the tablet. No idea what they were thinking. And good luck finding accessories for it like an aftermarket cover/case because none are making it for them, you can find cases that will work but never perfectly fit. They do make a 80-100$ docking station for it which i want but they are not always in stock to buy!?(I had to custom make a desk stand for mine), Also having to turn it upside down since the charging port is on the bottom is annoying.
Last thing, I like how it has the small touch pad thing on the case BUT where is the mouse buttons for it? Without a mouse input button kinda defies its reason to even be there in the first place.
Other Thoughts: All that aside this is a great little tablet i think anyone could enjoy, but having technical experience for upgrades is recommended otherwise add a 64GB SD card and enjoy it stock. Pros: A great tablet. Highly recommend changing the hard drive. I put in a 128 gb drive and installed win8 rtm. Works perfectly.
Very fast with win8 and touch is great with win8! Boot time is 15 to 20 seconds with win8 and new hard drive. Cons: Small, slow drive. Definitely replace One usb port, but a mini usb hub works great ( I typically have wireless mouse, usb Ethernet and usb keyboard in hub and all work great).
Other Thoughts: Great device. Everything works great with win8 as long as you replace the HDD. Pros: Price Great hardware specs - CPU, GPU, Memory. Low power consumption Nice bright responsive touch screen additional ports Cons: Needs a bigger SSD Drive (32gb) Just don't cut it for Windows A little heavy left side gets a little hot near exhaust vent for the fan Other Thoughts: I purchased my Windpad 110w about a month ago.
As like many others the first thing I did was replace the stock 32gb SSD with a nice super fast Mushkin 120GB model (also from Newegg). I then loaded up Windows 8 and all I can say is WOW! This is the little tablet that could. It runs Windows 8 quite well.
The OS loads fast from boot (about 7-8 secs). Web pages, music playing and even light gaming are flawless. It does have an issue with the Windows 8 media player but I'm sure this will probably be fixed upon the retail release of Windows 8. Right now I'm using a 3rd part media player for video.
But it worls great. We connect the tablet to our 51' plasma and watch downloaded videos all the time. Very nice and portable. I think anyone would be happy with this setup. Pros: Works as expected.
Very powerful, seems like im on a desktop. Installed Office 2010 Pro, Web site design/graphics software and other type software and no issues. Cons: This specific model absolutly will not work with Windows 8 yet if you upgrade to the Intel 80GB SSD MSata hard drive. Microsoft has stated they will research the driver issue when Windows 8 is fully released.
Per Microsoft its a driver issue between the AMD Processor and the Intel MSata SSD. Other Thoughts: Other than I am sad I cannot run Win8 with a decent size hard drive. Pros: High portability, Great specs for a tablet. Read the reviews about the initial OS install, you can break out of the BING bar install.
Plan to upgrade and you can turn this into the best tablet around. Cons: Power cord length. I get the feeling they went with the lowest bid. Not really a con, but I can't seem to find the docking station anywhere. For an 80$ accessory it's seems oddly elusive. Other Thoughts: Two things, the specs on the SSD that ships with this unit are dismal.
They only went SSD for the power gain apparently. That said a daily deal equipped it with a 64 gig with 5X the performance (mSATA). As the GPU/CPU are coupled it can use a boost and the available PCIe slot can take a HD assist card. It's due tommorow. I'll update after I've checked it out. I tried Windows 8 out recently on my Windpad 110W, and while it does work better than Windows 7, its still not quite the finished article. I didn't need to install any drivers, everything was recognised 'out-of-the-box', apart from the card reader and GPS sensor, for which I had to download and install the Windows 7 drivers. What I found most puzzling, for the 'Metro-style' apps included, is that there appears no way to 'close' them down, apart from using Task Manager to 'kill' them. Annoyingly also, as I installed the 64bit version, the included IE10 wouldn't play BBC iPlayer content, even after downloading and installing the Adobe Flash Player beta. The big loss for me is the lack of any kind of Media Center software, although Windows Media Player is included, it is hidden away and you really have to find it, the new Start Menu doesn't make it that easy to find. So my initial conclusion is that although still in a very early stage of development, Windows 8 is 'potentially' a very useful operating system for touchscreen tablet systems, but isn't really practical for desktop systems just yet.
I am having some trouble with Windows 8. I have an 80gb drive in my Windpad so installed Win 7 Ultimate 64bit to 55gb and then installed Win 8 to the remaining partition.
I was able to boot in to Win 8 and play around but then restarted back to Win 7 and installed all the drivers. Then I went to load Win 8 up again but it just sits on the startup screen with the little dots going around in a circle. It will sit there for hours. I tried removing antivirus and restarting but I still can't get in to Win 8 again. I am having some trouble with Windows 8. There are at three or four devices not recognized by Windows 8 in the device manager-Card Reader - Bluetooth (a pain to install with no keyboard. See the text files in the zip file in your driver DVD for instructions.) - GPS - 3G All of them will work if you install the drivers from the driver DVD or MSI website. I'm guessing you are missing the bluetooth driver. Especially if it's showing as 'Unknown Device'.

Also if you can't get the webcams running, revert to the latest video driver from the MSI website. Also DO NOT INSTALL any optional wWindows Updates to the Silicon Graphics serial port.
It'll break the GPS. (Which otherwise works fine. Ignore the Nay-Sayers ) Mo offence to MSI, but the O-Easy software also seems to break the GPS. As long as I stay away from those two installs, it works fine. Hope this helps, kernelpanic.
I had some trouble installing the Bluetooth driver on Windows 8 Consumer. I had to unpack the driver.EXE using WINRAR.
It appears the Installer.exe doesn't run but if you run the W732.exe or W764.exe it will install the bluetooth drivers and software. I think the installer.exe might be getting blocked by the over zealous AntiMalware program included with the W8 Consumer Preview. (I can't remember the exact.EXE names but it will be similar to the above) Redge, try a different USB stick. I had that problem with the Dev Preview and a new USB stick fixed the issue. Hi, Windows 8 all installed and working including the TPM module and an aftermarket 3G module. Only issue I have is with the Ambient Light Sensor. On win 7 there was an option in control panel under Hardware and Sound called Location and Other Sensors and this allowed the switching on and off of the ambient light sensor and (if installed) the GPS module.
No option in the windows 8 control panel under Hardware and Sound. So every time I set the brightness up then it automatically gets reduced. Would other windows 8 users mind checking if this is the same on their tablet (110W) or has anyone had this issue and solved it? Cannot see anything on the MSI download section that installs this option although I did try the light sensor firmware download but this came up with an error that it was not applicable to the 64bit system Many thanks.
Thought I had bluetooth as O-easy allows it to be switched on and off but when I looked in device manager it is not present. Have downloaded the Wlan package from MSI support and also tried the original driver that came on the disk with the tablet but I get as far as the installer starting with the shield icon on the task bar but then nothing happens. Have tried switching off Windows Defender, running the.exe file as administrator but no luck. Not sure what the silent.install.txt is for as it looks like a command line run entry. My GPS doesn't seem to be working either. I think it's drivers, or maybe settings of the unit itself.
How To Install Windows 7 Service Pack 1
Maybe it needs to be set up properly to work with GPS satellites in North America? I found this interesting link, which mentions that besides enabling GPS you also have to go to Locations and Other Sensors in control panel and enable it there. Which I did, but MS Streets & Trips 2011, even though recognizing GPS on Port 3, doesn't receive any data from it I also tried GPS Utility and no data is collected from GPS either. Anyways here is helpful link to maybe get us step closer. If anyone get's this to work please inform others. You can find advanced GPS settings under device manager Ports (COM & LPT) and fiddle with it. Also don;t forget the Locations and Other Sensors.
Happy windpadding. Click to expand. Thanks for that SS! I will be posting the results on mydigitalSSD 64GB soon. I will install it this friday/sunday as Im travelling today. GPS info got to lock the satellites using the internal GPS, but I installed the 3G driver and now in the O-easy, instead of a GPS icon y have a 3G icon, I think I shouldn't have installed that lol.
I will try to remove the driver and try again. COM3 is the default.
If it doesn't work I will report results after a full format using the new SSD. (my 32GB SSD was just kind of a TEST ssd to stress out the pad and see how much it could take ). Tarun goyal general knowledge 2014 pdf download. While searching for a charger I found this good review for anyone still sitting on the fence: They had some useful information like the size of the charging pin: The AC adapter uses a 0.08x0.21' (2.1x5.5mm) center positive And this!
'Along with the power connector at the bottom of the WindPad 110W, you'll find an expansion dock port and a SIM card slot for optional 3G connectivity. The dock port is the same kind used by the Eee Pad Transformer and it is an interesting addition to the WindPad 110W. However, we've yet to see a docking station from MSI.
Any one got a Asus Transformer and will to test the keyboard dock with the Windpad? Edit: and after reading that review I'll be putting Win 8 Developer on tonight. I installed it. It works great. Very interesting interface. Works very well for a developer preview. I can't wait until Windows 8 is released.
EDIT: And if that reviewer thought it was pretty fast, he should see how it runs with a SSD upgrade! I have my dock on the way and then I'll have it setup on my work desk as a secondary computer. EDIT 2: Man, pox67, that would be cool if you could use the Transformer keyboard dock. Unfortunately from pictures the connector looks similar but is centered on the Transformer and off center on the Windpad. Click to expand.I have just tried with a different Windows 8 Dev build and it is doing the same thing. What Bios are you using?
Mine is 1.06 and I have installed the other firmware update. Maybe that is the problem. How did you make the bootable USB?
I am using the Microsoft program: Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool SOLVED: I was using a Micro SD flash card in a card reader as the USB Boot drive. Windows 8 doesn't carry these drivers by default so it lost the install files and asked for the CD drivers. Now I just need to find a proper USB drive that is big enough.
